One night in hell

Well, enjoy!

The time is now.
I’m sitting here at this particular birthday party I’ve told you about last week.
There are about 30 people around me. On my right is my father chatting with a former
co-worker, who is nearly drunk. This guy has already consumed 5 glasses of white wine. They’re talking about their past, awkward former co-workers and about what’s wrong in this country. Kind of interesting. A woman is seated on my left and I have no idea who she is. She must be in her 60’s. I can’t remember if I’ve ever met her before. If I had I’m sure I would remember her terrible and way too sweet perfume. It’s exactly the odour (my teacher told me about the usage of "odour" but I still think it perfectly fits -_^) my grandmother used to call „Turkish whorehouse“. It’s sickeningly sweet with a tiny note of sweat and ashtray. It’s so penetrating and disgusting that I’m about to puke. No joke. This is what hell seems to be like.

The „Turkish whorehouse“ perfumed woman turned out to be typical Swiss: we were chatting and she told me with her strong smoker breath that we’ve met at my cousin’s wedding. It must have been 12 years ago or so. We had a conversation about working in customer service and moved on to the documentary After Neverland, which she’s totally against! She would never watch such a disgusting lie! Michael Jackson was innocent and that Jordan Chandler guy who accused him back in the 19?? was a little shitter, who was just after Jackson’s money. It is disgusting how people act! Michael Jackson would never have abused a child. Blabla
Then I asked her „Did you watch the documentary?“
„NEVER! It’s a waste of time! One should not support shitters like they are!“
„Watch it. And let’s talk again after you watched it.“

There is a band playing something they call music. Two old guys AKA „Alleinunterhalter Nachtfalke“. I’ve already mentioned that I’m in hell. It’s literally THE HELL ON EARTH! They play Ländler and oldies. All the classics, such as „Sierra madre“. It’s for old people. 85% of the guests are 50+ or even 60+ and some are much more older. They love it. My cousin, his wife, their son and me are suffering. We can’t even talk to each other anymore since the music is way too loud. You can’t even hear the person next to you. It’s great! I knew it would be a birthday like this…

My father and I ordered a beer. One look between us said it all. „Appenzeller Bier!“ which isn’t really tasty, nevertheless we drank it. I mean, it could have been worse. It could have been a Heineken.

The „Turkish whorehouse“ smelling woman turned out to be my cousin’s wife’s stepmother. She and my cousin were arguing about the climate change demonstrations and about things which have changed since the 90’s. I mentioned children/teens don’t even have to collect wastepaper anymore. She energetically barked this was because there isn’t much wastepaper to collect anymore. I said „That’s why they collect it with a giant camion (I know it would be "truck" here, but I love to add some helvetism).“ Then my cousin mentioned the school bus picking up children at the bus stop. We had to walk to school. If you lived 1km far from school you were allowed to go by bicycle. She barked at him that the school bus is necessary! „Why?“, I asked. Immediately turning her red face to me she stared and her face told me everything I had to know: How dare I question her? She then told about that 75 year old granny who stabbed a 7 year old boy in Basel a few weeks ago. But she said it generally: „Nowadays since children get killed on their way to school it is necessary to take care of them!“
„Who else got stabbed?“
„That boy in Basel!“
„Yes and who else?“
She stared at me.
„Switzerland is still a safe country. Just because once in I-don’t-know-how-many-years one boy got killed by mentally ill woman you can’t make this a general problem and act like it would happen every day. It happened only once. People are sometimes way too sensitive.“
„I need to smoke!“ she reacted, stood up and went to the fumoir. My cousin was giggling and informed me that one cannot discuss with her. Well, he’s right. She is a typical small-minded Swiss.

The food was another disappointment. I need to write a Google rating as soon as I get home!
My godmother had ordered the meals in February beforehand. She asked if vegan food was possible. They said yes. They literally said YES! You must know, I have been vegetarian for about 28 years. Back in the 90’s it was uncommon. Waiters couldn’t handle it and some were obviously shocked about a non-meat eating child. I would get french fries (chips) a veggie platter or a salad platter. Nothing more. It was in the 90’s. We don’t live in the 90’s anymore. It’s 2019 already! But this restaurant, the Gasthaus Bären in Holziken, seems to be a time machine. When you enter the restaurant you get thrown back into the past. Or wait. In case you know THE TWILIGHT ZONE let’s say it like Rod Serling would have said: Thinking of a nice evening she wasn’t aware she wouldn’t just enter an ordinary restaurant. She entered the TWILIGHT ZONE.

Dinner out of the Twilight Zone
The starter was a veggie bouillon soup. As usual. It’s boring but at least it contains no animal corpses.
The next course was a salad - as usual. I got my salad without a dressing. But she placed oil and balasmico on my table. But there was no menage with salt and pepper. Nice. Great service! I’m so flattered!
The main course was a piece of a dead animal with an unhealthy thick sauce béchamel. My main course was different. The chef must have time travelled back to the early 90’s and grabbed that plate in the kitchen there and brought it through that time hole straight into 2019. I’ve got a plate with some pieces of zucchini, broccoli and cauliflower. Ah yes and a few carrots as well. There was also a huge amount of dry and SALTED rice on my plate. I have never had such disgusting rice before! My father glanced at my plate and started laughing. My mother next to him asked what happened. Laughing, he said he had a 90’s-déjà-vu. I had to laugh as well. My mother then asked if it was delicious at least. One answer. One word: Nope.

When she came with the second helping something very funny happened. The waitress had wooden plateau (which is called "tray" but I like the French version better) with two bowls on it. One was meat. The other one was veggies. When she arrived behind me she couldn’t even finish her question, because suddenly the bowl with the veggies did what it had to do according to gravity: it slipped from the wooden tray. There was a rain of veggies all over me, my plate and on the ground. I used to work as a waitress before so I wasn’t angry. But the veggies were hot and burned my legs. Haha. She apologised so many times. And my father’s at the time drunken former co-worker joked about her accident. I said that I’m happy it wasn’t the bowl with the body parts of dead animals. C’est la vie de Navi. At least I have material for a new blog post. XD

In conclusion I want to say that I don’t recommend this restaurant at all. Not because of the accident, but because of the low quality of the food and the fact that they weren’t organised well. We had only one waitress serving 30 guests.

New vocab:
second helping - Nachschlag

A poem

In the year 2015 at the airport in Japan
at the check-in, there was this man
He looked terribly tired and ill
and told me busy, to wait still
It seemed he was late and in a rush
Who had guessed that he would meet his crush?
Then "it's ok. You can come" he said
Oh, I was so glad!
My suitcase was way too heavy
haha it happens steady!
130 dollar he wanted from me
dollar? We're in Japan you can clearly see.

...to be continued...

Hanging in the balance

(Orignal German text was written on Saturday, 2013/09/28 "Auf der Kippe")

Her picture in the mirror seemed to be unreal. This woman wasn't her. Couldn't be her. The bursted lip. The dried up blood spatters in her face. The formerly white and now blood soaked summer dress. The dark blue, nearly black, and swollen right eye. From her perfectly drawn black eyelid line were only some dark smudged lines left. Her preferred eyeliner from Shiseido, which had let look her so perfect and so beautiful yesterday, turned her into a monster over night. She was only a shadow of herself now.
"This is not me!"
She stared into the strange face in the mirror, and that face just stared back.
A parallel universe had just to exist. An other world, in which she was staying in front of the mirror, brushing her hair with a smile and where she was happy. Tears run down over her cheeks. Tears of the lack of comprehension. Tears of fear. Tears of desperation - tears of hate.
The view from her deformed self in the mirror averting, she groped after her scalpel. But she felt no pain. There was a huge and deep wound in her leg. The blood was running down and built a small puddle round her foot. Again and again she dragged the cold blade through her naked skin. Nothing. Just emptiness. There was no sign of the usual relief. The blade felt down. She left the bathroom.
Beside her bed cowering on the cold floor, she was reflecting the past night. How could he have done that? How could she have let him do that? Has she ever been happy together with him?
Certainly they had spent good and beautiful hours together, but they had often fought together as well. Way too often. She couldn't remember, when he had caused her physical pain for the first time. It must have been a long time ago in the past...
Lately, it happened more and more often, that he was hurting her. That he vent his wrath on her. All his accumulated aggressions. Why, she didn't know.
She thought of her best friend, who told her on the phone recently, that she would not recognize her: "I've always looked up to you. You've always been my role model. What happened?! Why do YOU of all people acquiesce that?!" She didn't know an answer. When did this negative metamorphosis start? In former times she didn't acquiesce something from anyone.
She was deeply astonished by the fact, that Vanessa, her best friend, looked up to her. She admired her all the time. Vanessa was such a strong woman and she was so proud of being friends with this "amazon". But now? She was nothing! Because of HIM she had turned away from her friends. Even her horse she had turned away her back, because of her boyfriend was more important. Her boyfriend. Her first boyfriend. Everyone wanted him, but she has got him! And now? What did she has now? Nothing. She had a violent and hot-tempered goon, who had found his true love in cigarettes and alcohol. She couldn't explain, why she was together with such a person for such a long time. What happened with her? She had given him all her love, but it was never enough. She had done everything for him, but it just was not enough. She always had bowed to him. He wanted it that way. He was the lord. He was in authority - always. Contradiction meant torture. She had learned that slowly and painful. She had never lied nor cheated on him. He lied constantly and had some affairs, what she had suspected. Later on, her suspicion should be confirmed. She learned of all his girls and was able to uncover some lies. When she had spoken to him about that, he lost control of his temper, denied everything and threw her one of his combat boots in the face. Despite the pain, she had dared, even presumed to counter something. The answer came in a flash hurtled towards her - in the form of his fist, which gouged between her ribs and his combat boots, with whom he had beaten her until the darkness of unconsciousness occurred her.
While she thought further about it, she took off her stiff summer dress. In some places it stuck on her skin. Stucket the clotted blood. Back in the bathroom she stood unter the shower. The cold water was a blessing. She washed the blood out of her hair and from her skin. She wanted to clean herself. She wanted to wash herself free of her past and so she remained for 50 minutes under the cooling water jet.

Despite of her injuries, the woman, who was now staring at her in the mirror, didn't look broken and desperate anymore. Something had changed. The eyes of the woman in the mirror shone full of joie de vivre. On her face was a smile of trimuph. In her mind she saw the last pictures of her ex boyfriend. How his motionless body lay on the sofa. He had no more power over her. He was no more the lord over her.

In the mirror cabinet was still the "murder weapon", which she had to destroy. So she unscrewed the lid of the small dark glass bottle and poured the deadly rest into the toilet. The bottle landed in the trash can. To see was the white label added with the beautifully curved writing "Wolfsbane". Beside lay a book with the title "The deadliest plants of Europe".

In the cemetery of Montmartre

(orignal text was written on Thursday, 2009/03/09 "Auf dem Friedhof von Montmartre")

«In the cemetery of Montmartre, cries from the winter sky»

Cold, the air in February. I can just barely feel my legs yet, but it doesn't matter. I'm remembering the christmas eve. This one fateful night... How tortured he must have been suffering to dead. For hours and hours... and hours... till the end came.
The snow is falling. Again. There is already so much snow on the ground. All the gravestones have got white bonnets. In the winter night, the cemetery looks like it was a beautiful painting.
I'm inflaming the match and lightening the red grave candle's wick with its flame. The shadows of the relief-like letters of his name are dancing with the candle's flame in the wind. Dancing on a cold stone. I'm shivering while I'm reading his name. Erik. Why? Why was it you?! What have I done?!

I'm getting overhauled by the memories of the christmas eve. I see us. Erik and me, dancing at the "Danse macabre". There are others dancing around us. Others like us. Black. All are we wearing black clothes. Erik is wearing a flouncy shirt of white silk combined with a black blazer. Baroque. I'm peering into his green eyes. Everything I feel is love. Deep true love. We are meant for each other.

The ball is over. Too fast. Erik and me are walking through the car park. I'm slipping on a iced place, but he catches me softly. We're laughing. For the first time of my life, I'm happy. Honestly... After my bad childhood with several foster parents, which never have loved me, did I finally find someone, who loves me.

Imperatively do I want do drive the car. I just have the learner's license indeed, but nevertheless am I a good driver. Erik is sceptic. Means it is too dangerous tonight. I insist. I'm looking with begging eyes into his green ones, till he says yes. He is smiling, whereupon his long vampire fangs are visible.  He throws the keys over to me.

The streets are white. The trees are white too. We're driving through a peaceful winter wonderland. We're alone in the streets. The world is us. The future as well.
Erik tells me how deep his love for me is. Everything is perfekt.

I'm slamming on the brakes! I'm trying to alter the course! Everything is turning. I'm losing control... I lost the control over the car. A pound! The crash! The airbag! A dark curtain is falling down. I'm passing out.

Erik is sitting next to me. Perforated with metal and branches. But he is alive. He must have horrible pain. Blood is running out of his mouth.
I wouldn't know that, if I hadn't seen the pictures the police showed me. When the firefighters fetched him out of the wreck of his car after two hours, is he dying.

I can see his green eyes, just as green as the pill with the skull picture. His green eyes. He loves me. The green pill. It promises fun. The green pill. It makes you happy. The green pill.
Erik avoids drugs. Me too, actually... but...
Erik is dead... me too - in some way.

Because of a woman and a bound of rosy elephants in the street did I kill my boyfriend. It was hallucination. Green pills and rosy elephants.

I'm no more able to move. The winter is too cold. I'm crying lying in the snow. The sky is crying too. I can feel its cold tears on my cold skin.
We both are crying. Erik up in the sky and me down here on earth. On the ground.

I'm lying in front of his grave. I can't move anymore. I'm tired. The black curtain. I'm dying.
Can you see me dying? I'm dying alone...

Erik, soon I will be together with you again.

The Happening

A short fairy-tale about a nutcracker, a flowerbird, an owl and a rose

There was a class of 7  members, 3 women and 4 men. Your narrator wont tell you any names, otherwise your lovely narrator could be killed one morning on her way to the postbox...

The streets between the houses were dark. A white close mist enclosed the buildings with its white bulgy arms. A dark bastard of a spring-morning...
In the mist were some lights to see. The lights of a classroom were shining through it...

Every day was a loud day. So much noise in the room. The noise mostly came from the nutcracker and the raccoon. the room was full of agitation and it was always very loud. All people, mostly the raccoon and the nutcracker chatted with each other.
One day, the nutcracker had one of his childish minutes and wanted to put his pencil in the ear of the flowerbird. The flowerbird tweeted him, that he has to stop such stupid jokes! On that day the nutcracker stopped to talk to her. He started ignoring the flowerbird.
Two weeks later, the classmates had to change their seat-places. The nutcracker sit between the owl and the rose. In front of him was the flowerbird.
When they had to have a conversation about health care the nutcracker got angry because of a misunderstanding. He didn't talk with the rose anymore and ignored her perfectly! She didn't min. On the day after he asked the owl some stupid questions and offended her in a childish and nerved way. The owl made clear that she doesn't want to talk to him about that. Because of that the nutcracker stopped also talking to her and ignored her, too. That means that the nutcracker stopped talking to all women. He started ignoring them all. But... he didn't think about his situation. He sits in a triangle between these three women and that's the beginning of his tragedy.
On Friday morning, he came too late again and had no clue what the others were doing. He didn't want to ask one of his seat-neighbours what they are doing and that's why he was sitting on his chair and did nothing. He fixed a solution-sheet lying on his table with his eyes and was waiting... He also didn't want to ask the rose, if she gave him the dictionary, which was on the table in front of her. No. He went to the teachers desk, took the book and went back to his place...

the Friday was the most quiet day. The nutcracker hadn't anyone near him to talk with. There was no more noise and no more agitation in the room. The climate of learning became pretty good!

The owl, the flowerbird and the rose said, that their teacher will be surprised on Monday, when he sees his quiet class. Maybe he will ask the nutcracker: "Who are you? And what happend with the nutcracker?!" o.O

A funny hobby

2009/11/03

First of all is a happening placed in the childhood. It is the most important thing you need for this hobby. It is an abnormal consum of movies and books, which started in the age of 6; as younger as better. All the freaks, clwons, animals, killers, psychos and fairys you met in your childhood will follow you on your life way...

These are needful things.
After this you need a very good knowledge of one languge, you also need a computer, a typewriter or a pencil and some pieces of paper.
In the next stage you may start with your work. You ma start writing a story. But prior to this you should decide about what you'll write.
You also may write about a happening.
While you're writing your story, all the creatures you met in your past and also some sentences you read in books or some quotiations you heard in movies will come up again and visit your mind!
When this happens you can play being a god. You have the power to let your figures alive or killing them. Its up to you, what happens with them.

Writing stories is also a good way to pay back. But if you wants to pay back, please avoid using real names, otherwise you could be killed on the way to the postbox....
